What Diwali means to me. . .

lights strewn over houses crammed together on a dirt road.
candles at every doorway.
fireworks, explosions every minute, occupying the empty crevices in auditory corti entirely.
sweets sold at every shop, packaged for gift giving.
laughing, excitement. long lost relatives unified at last.
sweets. shopping. lights.
something about Hinduism.  Ram, Ravana, Sita, Hanuman, triumph of good over evil. . .the usual?
customs, cultures, religions, beliefs, traditions.
unify some and divide others.
keep us from celebrating life together.
eat, drink, be merry. . .inclusively, lovingly. . .to everyone, always.
