Children are the future.
We hear that a lot don't we?
But I think it's true in a very literal sense at this moment in time. With an increasing dependence on technology, children and young people are actually much more capable of manipulating it and creating with it than are older generations. Programming computers is learning how to speak a different language and we all know that the people most able to learn new languages are children. It actually is becoming illogical for older people to be "in charge" of technological things because our reliance on technology is so huge and the people who are best able to work it, are young, those who have been indoctrinated from the start and understand the language the best. Many things are becoming obsolete because computers can do them better. Traditional hierarchies are being shattered because children always know way more than their parents when it comes to technology. This usually has been true in history as well (younger generation knowing more eventually), but it's happening at a much more rapid rate now. I think probably someone aged 8 who has been introduced to a computer would be more technologically advanced than their parents. . .whereas before you needed school to "advance people". You can find information on the internet about anything (although its references and validity can't always be ascertained). . .so education, in the formal, go to school and learn from people (that need to be paid a salary), way that we're used to may also become obsolete. . .eventually. It seems that, with a growing dependence on technology, CEOs and innovative new companies will almost have to be full of young, inventive, individuals and if that is not the case, then hacker groups like Anonymous will spring up all over the place and take technology down.
Although, maybe this isn't so different than what has happened throughout history. . .in my parent's generation, when they were my age, they may have felt a similar way about things. . .but the history plays itself out differently. The context was different perhaps, the political atmosphere or the environment. Everything is always changing, so it's difficult for most people to look at everything and recognize a similar situation in the center of a lot of smoke. I bet if you went back to Ancient Egypt, and you spoke the language, and kept your mind open and watched everything that was going on. . .you would also notice a lot of similarities to today. Any moment in time really. We are constantly recreating our reality to play out the same way that it has for all eternity.
Ya. Try wrapping your mind around that.
But if you are aware, you die laughing hysterically. . .there's no other way.
Btw. While the new order of young people take over the world, how are we going to eat? Cuz I'm pretty sure no one taught them how to actually use the physical world or interact with the environment to produce food. . .? Unless we convert to Chickienobs!
